A passage taken from "Inspiring Woman" by Beverley Shepherd
LONGING FOR MORE
[John 10:10, NKJV]
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. "
These notes are born out of a heart cry .
When Jesus called to the first disciples with the words, 'Follow Me', they had to make a decision - based not on knowledge of the route, nor gurantee of the destination, nor promise of comfort on the way, but on a deep desire to be with Jesus and to know Him better. More than anything they wanted to know this man who could lead them to life that was 'more'.
Are you longing for more?
Ask God to increase your thrist for Him.
[Psalm 42:1-2]
" As the deer pants for the water brooks,So pants my soul for You, O God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?"
Qiu's Reflection:
Can we really be like the disciples to leave everything behind and follow Jesus? What about you? Can you do it? For me, i guess it will take a lot of FAITH. We learn that Faith is an action, is not just saying that i will, but to take that step and DO it. That's called FAITH. I know we can be struggling, caught between the desire to follow and serve God but yet in the fear of moving out of our comfort zone. We also know that life without God isn't what we want. Guys! I hope in 2009, as a cell group let's move toward a better living with God in the centred of our life. Let's not be contented at where we are and what we have done so far. But continued to ask God for more, more of His Presence, His Anointing, His Wisdom, His Strength, His Guidance & His Love.
